In the Escondido Creek project I am in the 3D group. I came into this group not knowing how to really work the 3D printers and I still am confused with some of them. I have learned how to use blender a little bit, I have learned to print on the makerbot, and I still am learning both at the moment. We made the base model on blender. We were not able to print the whole 3D model of the creek. We have made the base map and we have made progress with the printers the next group just needs to carry on with what we have done for them. They have the majority of the work done for them they just need to print the rest of the pieces to the model. The model we made has 9 different pieces. We have many different printers here but none of them have a big enough base plate to print the full model. We printed 2 of the 9 pieces. The next class of chemistry next semester will be printing the last 7 pieces. We had many attempts with different printers but everything failed. We finally decided to use the makerbot as are final printer and thats what we are printing on. I am very excited to see what the final models turn out like.
